Homeschool Support / Learning Pod Programs for K-5

  • In order to accommodate working parents, our Homeschool support program is designed to supervise and provide assistance to children attending the virtual school system with their ISD, in a safe environment.
  • The number of children per teacher is limited to five at the most. This provides for sufficient distancing in the classroom while allowing for interactions with teachers and peers.
  • Children will log in and attend their virtual classes from our School campus in Plano, under the supervision of trained teachers, who will provide extra help to understand the content being taught to them at school.
  • Children will attend the virtual instructional classes offered by their teachers at the ISD, and participate in interactive activities with the LCA teachers to further enhance their understanding of the concepts. Children will work on their homework before they leave for home from our School campus.

FAQ and Security Measures

1. What safety measures are you going to follow?

  • The safety of children and the teachers at Learning Cube Academy (LCA) is our highest priority. 
  • We have arrangements for safe drop off and pick up with proper distancing outside of the school premises.
  • No one is allowed inside the building except enrolled children and school staff.
  • Temperature readings will be taken each day as children arrive by staff members who will use masks and gloves.
  • Children will sanitize their hands as they arrive and wash their hands as soon as they get into the classroom
  • We will maintain social distance guidelines to keep children separated in classrooms.
  • Children are encouraged to wear their face mask and/or face visor at all times.

2. What kind of Homeschool support can I expect?

3. How long will my child spend time at Learning Cube Academy?

  • This program is offered from 7:45 AM to 3 PM.
  • Children will have a 30-minute lunch break.

4. What is the cost?

  • Please fill up the registration form and we will get back to you with the details.

5. Will you provide a device?

  • Kids need to bring their own device – Chromebook, Laptop, or MacBook (whatever they are comfortable using) along with their school supplies. Internet and printer access will be provided.

6. Will you provide snacks and lunch?

  • Students have to bring their own lunch and snacks
  • They will eat at their own desk to reduce the risk of spreading any infections.

7. Will there be recess and specials?

  • LCA will make all the efforts possible to bring students an ISD experience. They will have 30 minutes of recess time on a daily basis.
  • LCA will try to accommodate the specials on a rotation basis or encourage the students to spend time in the gym to enhance their gross motor skills.

8. Is this program a replacement to the ISD program?

  • The LCA program is not a replacement to the ISD. LCA is providing additional Homeschool support and supervision with a very limited number of students per grade level. 
  • Students will still attend their ISD and virtual classroom from LCA as per their class schedule but will also get extra help from the LCA staff and teachers.

9. Will you follow the ISD daily schedule?

  • Yes. We will follow the ISD schedule and ensure the children will login to their classes at the prescribed/synchronized learning times. At other times, LCA teachers will offer support with their homework and engage the children with interactive activities during recess.

10. Will they be able to go back to their ISD when they open face-to-face instruction?

  • LCA focuses on the well being and all-rounded development of the students. They will have an opportunity to grow physically, academically along with social-emotional skills.  With this program, children will be able to go back to the ISD and adapt to the change without any issues.

11. How do you accommodate students from different ISDs?

  • We accept students from the local ISD’s for this in-person Homeschool support program. Our trained teachers are familiar with, and continuously monitor, the published school curriculum from several ISD’s in the metroplex.
  • We ensure that students attend the synchronized time as per their individual ISD schedule, and additionally will engage in peer interactions and the teachers at LCA for further enrichment.

12. Will the students work on their homework at your school?

  • Yes, the students will finish their homework for the day before the end of the school day.

13. How do I know the progress of the students?

  • As per each students’ ISD syllabus, we will keep track of their progress through unit tests, independent work, and class participation.
  • All progress can be tracked through reports provided by the ISD as well as individual progress reports from the teachers at LCA.
